The latest election verdict is out and the two heavyweight and prominent women politicians of India Mamta Banerjee of West Bengal and Jayalalithaa of Tamil Nadu have registered thumping victories. Mamta Lead TMC swept entire West Bengal while as Jayalalithaa lead AIDMK registered strong victory in Tamil Nadu.
Pertinently, these two strong women politicians lead their parties to victory despite all big national level and other key players forming a coalition against them.They also had to face an unfriendly central government but despite all odds they emerged victorious.
While they remained strong footed with their ideologies and did not compromise the story in our part of the World Jammu and Kashmir is different here PDP lead by Mehbooba Mufti had all through promised to keep communal forces at bay but in end had coalition with BJP. Political ideologies and principles were compromised like anything .
While as Jaya and Mamta emerged victorious despite all thorny ways it looks for Mehbooba lead PDP future electoral victories would be no less than miracles gauging the present mood.
Ideology, commitment, local concerns could be the lessons for Mehbooba from the electoral victories of Mamta and Jayalalithaa.
