From Last 12 Years Employees Stayed At One Place For Corruption

Srinagar, November 20 (KNB): At a time when Director Education Kashmir has come on forefront for tightening nose against the corruption, an alleged violation of rules and regulations in the department of Education in Bandipora District of North Kashmir after an employee in education department who was posted at a higher secondary Sumbal has been transferred to CEO’s office along with his post.

Reyaz Ahmad Rather who is a senior assistant was posted at Hajin higher secondary school of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district in 2007 but was then transferred to CEO’s office along with his post while as there was no such post at CEO’s office.

“It is so unfortunate on the part of our system that we are unable to work ethically. It is injustice to the employees who work with honesty and dedication. Some employees have upper hand and do unjust to other workers,” said Shazia a government employee (name changed).

According to sources , Reyaz was transferred to CEO office in the same year when he was supposed to join Hajin
Higher secondary as his actual posting was there. He is working at CEO’s office since 12 years and no further transfer orders have been issued to him, creating a void in administration process and official norms.

A staff member from education department said, “I have been transferred 3 times in last 10 years and have faced many problems but I know few people in my sector who are comfortable in one seat from last many years, this is inequality and corruption has taken away all the rules and law.”

“Reyaz is alleged of indulging in corrupt practices. He is accused of working under the table, assuring transfers to the employees amid to garb money. Corruption being a biggest problem and most talked about is being practiced openly and that too in the education department.” he added.

However , showing Zero tolerance to such actions is needed. There has to be a transparency in situations like these. These allegations are to be taken seriously. Action must be taken against anyone who enjoys such comfort and work according with immediate effect. (KNB)
