Srinagar, June 06(KNB): As the world has started living with deadly Coronavirus, and increase in the movement of people on the streets, the government is likely to end lockdown across the country under certain guidelines where preventive measures such as frequent hand washing would be a major concern at crowded places as in Banks, offices, malls, schools and many more.

With economic sector coming to a halt giving peak rise to the unemployment, the government officials have started giving relaxations in lockdown imposed to curb the spread of virus while the necessary precautions have to be taken like one of the major precaution issued by WHO is frequent hand washing as life won’t suddenly return back to normal once the lockdown end because the risk of contracting COVID-19 infection would be still there.

Frequent hand washing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of infections as the virus can spread casually by touching another person and one can also catch the virus by touching contaminated objects or surfaces and then face mouth, eyes, and nose, as per the WHO guidelines.

Pertinently, a huge rush of people could be witnessed in offices, Banks, restaurants, Schools , Public places after June 08 as the government has ordered to lift the restrictions in these places, however, frequent hand washing would be a major concern to prevent one from getting infected.

While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, one of the health Expert, Dr Fatima said, ” Lockdown is about to end, but Coronavirus is still there, we would still need to be careful and take care of our health, One good habit which the spread of COVID-19 inculcated in people is the punctual washing of hands. Practicing hand hygiene can not only prevent coronavirus but can also keep several other diseases at bay. Even if the spread of coronavirus comes to an end, don’t stop this good habit of regularly washing your hands as it will keep you healthy and fit for long.”

When asked about the necessity of frequent hand washing at public places she said, ” People won’t prefer frequent hand washing one of the reason is that the work load will increase, at malls and other public places we have seen we don’t have such facilities available, so to protect and prevent oneself , sanitizer is the best alternate which could be used where one is not able to frequently wash hands.”

“Social distancing is the need of the hour, and with lockdown coming to an end It has become now more important than ever to take these precautions seriously and follow strict social distancing. To be more precise, distancing yourself also requires one to avoid public gatherings, parties, places frequented by the public (more than 10 people) and maintaining almost a distance of six feet, wherever you can,” she further added.(KNB)
