Amid the usual wrangle between militants and army, students at a Government Primary School are sandwitched as their school has been occupied.
Classes were stopped since last Friday at the Primary School at Sonawali area of Manigah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after encounter began in the area last week.
Students of the Primary School are bearing the brunt as their schooling has been interrupted. They return back from their school without attending their classes as they find the army personnel still inside.
A local resident on condition of anonymity shared,” the troops here occupied three rooms and a kitchen, after the launch of operation in the area. Students of the school are reduced by fear as they see the forces inside their school.”
Fearing the consequences of registering any complaint about the issue, parents of these students helplessly justified their silence.
“Thinking to complain about the issue is no option for us under the army occupation. Undoubtedly our wards are suffering as it has been a week since they have attended the school,” a parent said.
DC Kupwara says all is well, “The school restarted just after a few days of occupation.”
