MLAs Angry For Being Ignored During Crucial Party Meet

‘All is not well in PDP’

Srinagar: All is not going well in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The anger is brewing among most of the sitting PDP legislators for being ignored during the first crucial meet chaired by party chief Mehbooba Mufti after her father’s demise.

Many sitting legislators said while the defeated leaders were taken on board about the government formation yet they were ignored in spite of being the party’s elected members.

“It is we people who know what is happening at the ground level. We were a bridge between the government and people in last one year and know what exactly is happening. But unfortunately instead of taking us on board, the party leadership has preferred defeated MLAs like Peerzada Mansoor, Abdul Gaffar Sofi and Rafi Ahmed Mir and others,” a senior PDP MLA said pleading anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media.

A sitting MLC said that the party should have at least given chance to them also before taking any decision. “We are not only for sitting in the legislative council, but have every right to raise our views about the future of our party,” he said.

It may be noted that the state is reeling under political uncertainty following the demise of chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayed. National Conference (NC) and Congress have also flayed the PDP for undue delay in forming the government
