The 900 page 7th pay commission report was submitted on Thursday to finance minister Arun Jaitely by the ministry of finance.
Highlights of report
- Suggests 23.5% hike in pay and allowances for government employees
- Recommends revised pension formation for civil employees including CAPF & defense personnel who have retire before 1.1.2016
- The minimum pay in government is recommended to be set at rupees 18,000 per month
- 16% increase in salary and 63%hike in allowance
Total financial impact in financial year 2016-2017 likely to be 1,02,100 cr, over expenditure as per business as usual scenario.
