Laying curbs on Seerat conference frustration of Govt: TeH

‘Event was no threat to law and order situation’

Srinagar, Dec 12 : Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir (TeH), on Monday strongly castigated and condemned state administration for laying curbs on proposed Seerat Conference at Hyderpora.
“It is sheer frustration and highhandedness of puppet regime that despite simple religious function, the participants were stopped and many roughed, said spokesman,”

In a statement issued to KNS, he said that all preparations were made and in an open invitation to religious clerics and intellectuals it was declared that a Seerat conference will be held at Hyderpora and nothing was concealed but the present regime despite their tall claims about, freedom for expression and democracy, out of vengeance didn’t not allow to hold a religious function and in order to create hurdles and impediments a large contingent of police was deployed and participants stopped.

“There was no threat to law and order situation, said spokesman and they are restricting free and fearless movement of people and ban religious activities, despite their rhetoric about so called “vision”.

Criticizing administration for their dubious nature and double speak, the spokesman said that on one hand they felicitate people on this auspicious occasion and on the other hand they restrict religious clerics and intellectuals from participating in religious seminars. It is strange that they during Amaranth Yatra provide every facility and even arrange for boarding and lodging but on the other hand restricting a simple function of Seerat Conference.

Spokesman lamented authorities for their double speak, said that even RSS activists are permitted to carry their activities and during their parade they even exhibit weaponry and thus harass Muslim and minorities communities but PDP led administration never prohibit their activities and instead act as mute spectators. They are double-dealers, said spokesman and said their sole aim is to appease their Zafrani masters in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) condemned the ban on the Seerat Conference scheduled to be held at Tehreek-e Hurriyat headquarters Hyderpora.

In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) said that curbs on the peaceful and academic activities throughout the valley, testifies and certifies our claim that this is a police state and is administered and run merely on the dictates of law enforcing agencies.

“Hurriyat said that today’s program was purely a religious and academic exercise to be conducted within the four walls of the head office, it would have not disrupted the normal life or traffic, but still the myopic puppets of this state could not dare to allow it to happen. (KNS)
