Locals Express Anger Over Administration’s Delayed Response in Transporting Bodies; Extend Gratitude to Army for Support

Baramulla 31 Jan(KNB): In a tragic incident at Uri, Baramulla, a Tata Sumo carrying passengers skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, resulting in seven fatalities and seven injuries.

The incident has been compounded by heavy snowfall, hindering the prompt retrieval of the deceased.

Local residents express anger, accusing the administration of a delayed response in providing necessary facilities for the timely transportation of the bodies.

Locals said that ambulances remain stranded at the accident site, as efforts to clear the snow-laden road using JCB are underway.

Despite the challenges, the Indian Army has stepped in to assist in retrieving the bodies, showcasing their commitment to aiding the community during critical times, they said.

However, locals extend their gratitude to the Indian Army for their unwavering support in this distressing time.

The joint efforts of the army and local authorities are now focused on ensuring the timely and respectful handling of the aftermath, amidst the unforgiving weather conditions in Uri, locals further said. (KNB)
