Punjab 04 March: A student of Desh Bhagat University (DBU) in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab, was found dead in his hostel room on Monday.
The student has been identified as Zahid, a final year BSc Radiology student from Tral area of South Kashmir.
According to his friend, Zahid was sitting in a common room with other students till late hour, and later went to his room.
When his friends went to his room, he found him hanging from the ceiling fan.
The reason for Zahid’s death is not confirmed yet. Zahid’s family has been informed and they are expected to reach the hospital soon.
On 31 July 2023, Zeeshan Ahmad, son of Irshad Ahmad Baigh, a BAMS Student at Desh Bhagat University in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a building.
When TKS tried to contact the university authorities for their comment on Zahid’s death, they could not respond to the calls.
