JKPSC, NIELIT Delhi/NIC exam dates clash, aspirants in a fix

The clash in JKPSC +2 Lecturer for Information Technology and NIELIT Delhi/NIC exams for scientist-B and Scientific/Technical Assistant scheduled on December 17 has left the aspirants at cross roads.

“We are in a fix as we can’t appear in both the exams on same date,” the aggrieved aspirants told Kashmir Scenario.

The aspirants said NIELIT Delhi exam for Scientist and Scientific/Technical Assistant is an exam which is conducted at All India level wherein they (candidates) can’t plead for the postponement of the said exams. “The concerned authorities won’t defer the exams for the aspirants of one single state,” they said.

Aspirants said they already approached authorities in JK Public Service Commission (JKPSC)- the recruiting agency authorized for conducting all gazetted level exams , “But they outrightly rejected our plea for deferment of the +2 Lecturer in Information Technology exams.”

The aspirants said the authorities in JKPSC have rejected the plea saying that the Lecturer exam cannot be postponed as JKPSC has it’s own exam schedule which cannot be altered. “They (PSC) do not pay any heed to the grave issue. Authorities there told us either appear in JKPSC Lecturer exam or NIELIT Delhi/NIC exam but didn’t agree to change the dates,” the aspirants said.

The aspirants also said that JKPSC has wasted more than two years since the publication of the advertisement in may 2015 and during this time, they (JKPSC) could have easily conducted the exams for the said post just like they did for the other subjects advertised in same notice.

The aggrieved aspirants said both the exams are of same importance for them. “We can’t miss either of the two. Both exams being competitive in nature, one is not sure till final selection, so we can’t miss any of them,” the aspirants said.

The aspirants however blamed JKPSC for its “poor coordination” with the other competitive exam conducting bodies in the country. “It is fault of JKPSC as NIELIT/NIC being All India level exam, its dates are notified well in advance at the beginning of year / exam calendar, so that state PSCs / Other exams conducting bodies set their dates accordingly to avoid clashes,” the aspirants said.

“But JKPSC has always been negligent in such things they should have first checked the dates of All India exams to avoid clashes,” they said.

The aspirants said JKPSC should have institutional contacts at least with All India level exam conducting bodies to avoid clashes to avoid any trouble for the students. “We appeal JKPSC to delay the exams by one week and conduct it on 24th December as that is available date for exam. This way we can appear in both the exams.
