Hajin Encounter : Militant flee after protest erupt




Forces has called off the encounter after militants flee from the cordon as protests erupted in Parrey Mohalla Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

According to reports, on a specific information about presence of two militants in a residential house, Army’s 13 RR and SoG  had cordoned off Parrey Mohalla Hajin at around 7:40 am in the morning.

They said that militants opened fire at forces after they zeroed in on the house. “As soon as they opened fire people came out of their homes and started protesting near the encounter site which helped the militants to escape from there.”

Witnesses said that protestors pelted stones at forces and raised pro-freedom slogans. “Forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protestors.”


Meanwhile, sources in the police and army confirmed that the operation has been called off.
