A new forum for young journalists has been formed in Kashmir. It will enable young journalists to interact, share their problems, concerns and aspirations, and to coordinate efforts to improve opportunities.

Called the Young Journalists’ Forum, it seeks to become a network of cooperation among journalists, especially those who function in remote areas and in difficult circumstances.




The forum will allow upcoming and aspiring journalists to coordinate their efforts to build an environment in which professional functioning can be ensured. They will be able to pool their resources, talents, ideas and methods to maximize possibilities for the highest standards of professionalism to flourish.

It will provide opportunities for the development of skills and for young people to keep track of the latest trends in journalism across the world. The forum will arrange interactions with the best journalistic talent. It will organize training facilities and mechanisms for the resolution of problems in the best way possible.




`Our main objective is to promote an atmosphere in which journalists can tell the truth about the pressing concerns of our society by working together,’ said Touseef Raina, who has been elected president of the forum.
