SAYA organizes blood donation camp at KU

SRINAGAR : SAAYA, a Kashmir based NGO in collaboration with the Red Ribbon club  Department of Students Welfare(DSW) university of Kashmir and Ja (JLNM) Rainawari Srinagar on Monday organized blood donation camp at the Lawnkashs Of Gandhi Bhawan, University Of Kashmir.



Students from various departments, Professors and many other volunteers from outside university participated in the event. There were almost students across different departments who participated in the event. Both male and females students donated blood at the camp.

Meanwhile, the Members of the organization also donated blood in the event.

The organizerof the event said that the aim of organizing the blood donation was to create the habit among of people for donating the blood for the good cause.

He said that it was not necessary to donate the blood here only; they can donate the blood at SMHS or SKIMS Soura as well for its good use.


We should donate our blood every year for those who have dire need of it and are unable to buy it from the market.

Syed Bilal, Donor for the event said that “people should come to donate their blood and the hope is that the turnover would increase in future”.

“It has been a routine since last five years for me to donate blood as it gives me a wonderful feeling ” he said.

The students who donated their blood at the camp expressed their happiness over the initiative taken by the SAAYA.

 

The donation camp started at 10:30 am and concluded at 03:00 pm.

The Dean Student Welfare Kashmir University G N Khaki was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the event.

The Dean Student welfare appreciated the students to hold more such events in near future.

The Camp Incharge, Dr Nadeem Medical Superindent said  100 points of blood have been collected from students as well as outsiders.

The sponsors of the event were J&K Bank, Red Cross society, Sajid Iqbal Foundation and JKAPCS.
