Rajouri.Oct 25: Moving ahead in its efforts to ensure peaceful atmosphere in Rajouri district, authorities today took twelve more person into preventive custody for their involvement in unlawful activities, especially drugs peddling and consumption, in rural belts of the district.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas, Thanamandi, Budhal and Kandi police stations identified such people who are indulged in unlawful activities in the respective jurisdiction of these police stations after which matter, along with adequate proof of their unlawful activities, was put up before the concerned Executive Magistrate of Police station Thanamandi, Kandi and Budhal who include Tehsildar Thanamandi, Tehsildar Kotranka and Naib Tehsildar Budhal.
The Executive Magistrates than ordered detention of all these person U/S 107/151/110 CrPC and on these orders, police have taken all of them into preventive custody and they have been shifted to District Jail Rajouri in Dhangri.
Details of detained persons are as :
01. Raj Kumar S/O Tirth Ram R/O Jawahar Nagar Rajouri.
02. Sourab Kumar S/O Manoj Kumar R/O Jawahar Nagar Rajouri.
03. Sadam Hussain S/O Adalat Khan R/O Azamatabad Thanamandi.
04. Zafer iqbal S/O Sabar Hussain R/O Kote Behrote Thanamandi.
5.Mohd Qadeer S/O Abdullah R/O Kotranka.
6.Mohd Safeer S/O Mohd Tufail R/O Gurdhan Balla Rajouri
7.Amjad Khan S/O Mohd Shabir R/O Ujhan Rajouri
8. Mohd Akseer S/O Shamas Din R/O Samote Budhal
9. Shabir Ahmed S/O Shakeel Ahmed R/O Samote Budhal.
10. Mohd Arshad S/O Mohd Rafiq R/O Samote Budhal.
11. Mohd Shakeel S/O Ab Latief R/O Draman(Samote) Budhal.
12. Sanjay Singh S/O Dev Raj R/O Rajnagar Budhal.
The above stated person were detained and taken into preventive custody by teams of three police stations.
In Thanamandi team headed by SHO Thanamandi Karan Chalotra under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Chowdhary Iftikar whereas in Kandi and Budhal team headed by SHO Kandi Arun Kotwal and SHO Budhal Jahangir Ahmed under the supervision of DySP OPs Sukhdev Singh detained the persons.
Addl SP Rajouri Mohd Yusuf was given the task of supervision of all the teams involved in detention of twelve persons.
Pertinent here to mention that sixteen person were taken into preventive custody yesterday while thirty person were taken into preventive custody a few months earlier for their involvement in unlawful activities with majority of them having role in drugs peddling.
Rajouri police has reiterated it’s commitment to end drugs peddling from Rajouri and taking stern action against people involved.
Authorities have also decided to booked some more notorious persons and drug peddlers under Public Safety Act in near future.
