Normal life crippled after commercial transport seen off road

Srinagar, June 12(KNB): Normal life in all over the Kashmir valley crippled on Wednesday in view of Passenger transport strike ‘Chakka jam’ called by all J&K Transport Welfare Association to protest against non-issuance of fitness certificates to the commercial vehicles by the State Transport Department.

 

Commercial vehicle including buses, mini-buses, trucks, load carriers, oil tankers, Tempo Travellers, Sumos, Taxis, autorikshaws is off the roads while only movement of private vehicles was witnessed.

 

Moreover, Transporters said the strike would be also observed against recent government order asking them to install hi-tech systems such as vehicle location tracking devices and panic buttons in their vehicles. were seen causing hardships to the commuters.(KNB)
