Shutdown call reviewed after postponement of by-polls

Srinagar, Apr 11 : The Joint resistance leadership has withdrawn the call for shutdown on Wednesday in view of the postponement of by-elections to the Anantnag parliamentary constituency.




Talking to KNS Hurriyat (G) Spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the shutdown call for Wednesday has been withdrawn keeping in view the postponement of the by-polls to the Anantnag Lok Sabha Constituency by the Election Commission of India.

The by-polls were postponed till May 25 yesterday by Election Commission of India following very less voter turnout in Srinagar parliamentary constituency and killing of eight civilian youths by forces during protests and clashes on the polling day in Budgam Ganderbal Districts. (KNS)
