In a brief encounter a militant was killed in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir on Wednesday morning.
According to officials, the gunfight started after forces challenged militants in Bevoora-Hadigam village of Dachnipora belt of Bijbehara.
The militant was identified as Basit Rasool of Marhama village of Bijbehara.
He was pursuing B Tech from Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) before joining militant ranks.
