Mehbooba Mufti on foot to deepen her public outreach

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNB): In a bid to bring Government infrastructure at their doorstep of the general masses, the public outreach programmes launched by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have evoked an interesting response from the public who come up with their problems for an on the spot redressal.


During the day long camps, the Chief Minister listens to scores of deputations and hundreds of people who apprised her of their developmental needs and sought their redressal in the respective districts.

So far Mehbooba Mufti has conducted such programmes at Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, Kupwara, Budgam and Baramulla in Kashmir Valley and Ramban, Samba and Kathua districts in Jammu province during which hundreds of people apprised her about their problems and difficulties.




Mehbooba at these occasions assured the delegations that tools of governance will be activated at district-levels in the State and accountability fixed so that people’s grievances are resolved in a quick, fair and transparent manner. She added that issues pertaining to delivery of essential services have been flagged by the Government and people will feel a positive change in the days to come.

Mehbooba said the people have lot of expectations from her government and it is the responsibility of the Ministers, including the Chief Minister, and other government functionaries to come up to their expectations.

On Sunday, deepening further her public outreach Mehooba visits North Kashmir’s Bandipora district to convene a grievances redressal camp where she announces Rs. 30 lac each for re developing Nishat Garden, Malkuchtch irrigation scheme; Rs. 10 lacs for street lights; Rs. 10 lacs for construction of ghats at Sumbal.

Mehbooba on the occasion ordered probe into the allegation of issuance of fake disability certificates in Bandipora district over the years.

A deputation of differently abled persons which came to meet the Chief Minister during programme raised the issue of fake disability certificates having been issued in the district and demanded an inquiry. They also sought construction of ramps in Government offices, educational benefits, review of reservation rules and availability of motorised cycles.
Besides, Legislators and ex legislators of the district, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan; senior officers from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Planning Department; heads of several Departments; Chiefs of many Engineering wings; DIG, NKR,; Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Sajjad Ahmad; SSP, Zulfkar and officers of District administration were present on the occasion.




Taking to Kashmir News Bereau correspondents on such different occasions, the deputations in general thanked the Chief Minister for bringing Government infrastructure at their doorstep to know their developmental needs and addressing them on spot.

They also hailed her for withdrawal of cases against youth involved in various law and order cases adding that the process may be got expedited and the left over youth be also brought under the amnesty scheme introduced by the Chief Minister. (KNB)
