LeT militant arrested in Pulwama: Police

‘Was active from 25 days’



Srinagar, Feb 03 : Police on Friday said that they have arrested a local militant in Lasipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.According to the Superintendent of Police district Pulwama Rayees Ahmad Bhat, a local young man Manzoor Ahmad Ganie 21year-old, resident of Pulwama joined Lashkar-e-Toiba recently and was active in the area.SP Rayees Bhat said that Manzoor had joined the militant group recently and was active from last 25 days. He said after specific information about his presence, forces and police cordoned the area and arrested him.A pistol and a magazine were recovered from his possession.




Earlier on the day the locals hurled stones and resisted the forces to carry out hunt operation after which the forces had to resort aerial firing. The locals told KNS that forces resorted aerial firing and teargas shelling on locals there, after they (locals) resisted and hurled stones on them. (KNS)
