The troops of India and Pakistan resorted to cease-fire violations and fired on each other’s positions on the line-of-control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said Saturday.

The two sides using light, heavy artillery and mortars targeted each other’s posts during evening on Monday.

According to officials, “Pakistani troops today violated (the) ceasefire along  LoC in Machil sector using 82 mm mortars and automatics,” a senior Indian army officer said on Monday.
