Srinagar Aug 06 (KNB): Participants from different districts of Kashmir were left hungry and thirsty by J&K Sports Council on the inaugural ceremony of upgraded Bakshi Stadium which was inaugurated by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday.
Amid soaring temperatures, Council did not provide refreshment to the participating members.
Students and other youth had gathered there to be part of the mega event, ” official sources said.
According to participants present in this mega event all the participants entered the stadium in the morning hours in order to watch and see all the live happenings and other activities related to this inauguration.
“The concern department mistreated us and neglected us. It was painfull that deptt that we are affiliated with sees us as non entity,” participants complained.
One of the participant questioned their own decision to be witness to such an event after feeling ‘humiliated’
“Rather appreciating us that we want sports to touch new heights and our presence is our proof that we cherish this inauguration, we were not provided a single drop of water even,” another participant said.
They also said that in such scorching heat and humidity we were even not allowed to enter with their food water and other eatbles.
” All such things were snatched from us and they assured us of refreshment. But later on waiting for hours nothing such happen adding even the J&K Sports Council did not pay any heed towards us,” they claimed.
“We waited for hours but none of the official from the department asked for our problem and other related things we faced there.”
Its pertinent to mention that on Friday LG Manoj Sinha inaugurated Renovated and upgraded version of Bakhshi stadium.(KNB)
