Young PDP leader and MLA Wachi Aijaz Ahmed Mir on Monday, September,21, visited the protesting NYC candidates and assured them full support. He said he would raise their issue in the upcoming assembly session. “I am pained to see that educated youth are forced to protest on the streets. The previous government played with your career, but this government will take your issue very seriously. I am very hopeful that the government, of which I am a part, will solve your issue without further delay,” he said.
Addressing the youth, who are on hunger strike from last 20 days, said, “I am pained to see that educated youth are forced to come on streets. You were appointed at that time, but what happened later is really a sad story,” he told the youth.
He said,”aapki demands genuine hai…padai chodh di aapne. You people quit your studies only after you felt that you got your bread and butter.”
“I don’t believe in dual policy. I will try my level best to raise your issues at all the possible levels,” he added.
The association is demanding implementation of a Cabinet decision to engage them in the Education Department.
Cabinet on October 22, 2014, had ordered “engagement of 6,000 National Youth Corps youth in the School Education Department against the vacancies created in newly 800 upgraded schools of the state”.
