As the winter dawned in Kashmir, new gear has been seen in the vein of change in weather conditions. In this regard, dressing way got changed and new types of stuff like firan, kangdi, room heaters were used to protect themselves from the chilly climate. Kashmir division generates electricity of its own and delivers the same to other divisions of India but regrettably supplier (Kashmir )falls scarcity of electricity frequently in winter as compared to the other divisions of India.
Electricity is the basic necessity for human being and can’t even stay for long time without it. So as far as Kashmir is concerned as the climate change new factor as well take lay in the form altering the electricity schedule, the electricity usually plays hide seek with people of Kashmir. With the acute shortage of electricity people of kashmir face massive dilemma thought out the winter season, as the invoice of electricity are at same speed but as distant as supply is concerned the speed of electricity goes downward in every given day of winter season and the people of Kashmir receive no satisfactory answers from administration. Abid Hussian ,eminent artist (dancer of Kashmir valley) resident of Natipora Srinagar states “from the last month we are suffering from lack of electricity in our locality despite general public making appeal to the concerned PDD department in a official way but regrettably the concerned authority snub our appeal and give no satisfying reason .Now via your esteemed medium it’s an humble request to the concern administration to look after our problem that we are facing in the form of electricity.
Pertinently, The Hindustan company contraction (HCC) in collaboration with NHPC is making a power project namely krishan ganga power project which is a huge project and costs in cores, while the people of Kashmir valley have big hope on this project and expect 24 hours power supply in Kashmir valley. After its completion.
The Kashmir is well known as the producer of hydroelectricity having different power plants all over the valley and provisions almost in several phases of India but regrettably we as the suppliers face shortage thoughrout the winter season, while few days before the resident of Bemina Nudrash colony protested against the administration, and blocked the national highway and gave slogans against the PDD division, while conversing with the local resident he said “we are giving bill in a given time then why electricity is playing hide seek with us and those are not our demands its simply our right.”
While contacting Chief Engineer Bashir Ahmad Khan he said “Due to snowfall in several areas of Srinagar city supply poles got damaged but as far as other cities we successfully restored the electricity supply and now optimistically we will restore as soon as possible in remaining areas”.
At the same time as the higher authority are saying confidentially that the electricity will be restored and sprint in smooth way in whole winter season but regrettably voices from different areas are coming onward in the shape slogans and protests against the concerned authority, while from the other hand those voices didn’t reach their desired fate as the authority keep their ear shut.
