TKSNN: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr. Shalindra Kumar Wednesday said that Divisional Administration is fully ready to face challenges posed by heavy snowfall and all necessary arrangements are in place to provide essentials and basic needs to people, particularly during current harsh weather conditions.
The Div Com was interacting with people from various walks of life during his extensive visit to various parts of Srinagar City. He went round Lal Chowk, Batmaloo, Karan Nagar, Safa Kadal, Nowhatta, Khanyar and other adjacent areas of Srinagar and reviewed pace of work of snow clearance of roads, lanes and bye-lanes.
Div Com also visited SMHS Hospital and took stock of the facilities being made available to the patients there. He interacted with attendants, doctors and para-medics and directed for keeping all emergency services ready in view of present chilly cold winter.
Div Com also took stock of power supply affected in several areas due to heavy snowfall in Valley.
Mr. Shalindra later visited SKIMS Soura and went round various wards to take stock of medical facilities being provided to patients in the Institute. He directed the concerned authorities to make all out efforts to provide quality medicare to patients both Indoor and Outdoor.
In view of heavy rush of patients, Div Com asked the Institute administration to set up additional ward and arrange services of more para-medics for the purpose.
Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, Joint Director Information Kashmir and Srinagar Municipal Officers accompanied the Div Com during his visit.
