DDC Kulgam reviews arrangements for Jumat-ul-vida, Shab-e-Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr

Kulgam, May, 27: DDC Kulgam Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements made for Jumat-ul-vida, Shab-e-Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The meeting was attended by ACR Kulgam, Exen R&B, Exen PHE, Exen PDD,CMO ARTO, and other senior officers of the district. Besides, the members of Civil Society and trade Union were also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed various arrangements put in place by the district administration for the convenience of people across the district.

The DDC on the occasion directed the concerned officers to ensure availability of essential commodities including rice, Atta, K-oil, LPG, besides uninterrupted power and water supply, transport arrangements, cleanliness in and around mosques, streets and Eidgahs, medicare facilities and repairs of roads wherever necessary.
He directed the officers to ensure the availability of meat and poultry in the markets and directed the departments of Fisheries, Animal husbandry departments to keep sufficient stock available at various sale centres.

The Power Development Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply on the auspicious occasions of Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Department of Public Health Engineering was also directed to ensure uninterrupted water supply and also, keep available tankers service in the areas wherever necessary.

*Ensure proper arrangements for Kheer Bhawani Mela at Manzgam, Devsar: DDC Kulgam*

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Dr Shamim Ahmad Wani today chaired a meeting with the district officers to review the arrangements put in place for smooth conduct of Kheer Bhawani Mela at Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Manzgam and at Shree Tripoori Sundri Asthapan Khanbarni Devsar.Interacting with the concerned officers, the DDC directed to ensure appropriate arrangements are put in place for the smooth conduct of Mela.

During the meeting, the DDC discussed department-wise facilities provided for the devotees. He stressed the concerned authorities to be proactive and make every possible effort for smooth conduct of the Mela Kheer Bhawani. On the occasion, DDC reviewed security arrangements, availability of essentials, accommodation facilities, traffic management, medical facilities, sanitation facility, besides the availability of power and water supply.

While reviewing the preparedness of the concerned departments for the Mela, the DDC stressed the officials to ensure that the devotees get the requisite facilities for performing religious rituals. He asked the officers to maintain close coordination so that all possible facilities are made available to the devotees during the festival.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Executive Engineers of PHE, R&B, PDD, Dy. SP Headquarters, Tehsildar Devsar, Noorabad and other concerned officers. The members of Prabandhak committee were also present in the meeting.
