2 girls attempt to suicide in Handwara

TKSNN: As the two top positions in higher secondary part IInd results were bagged by Handwara in North Kashmir on Thursday, a pall of gloom descended on two other families in the same township with their wards attempting suicide over their failure in the same examination.
According to the TKSNN correspondent, two students namely Samiya Mushtaq (name changed) was shocked after the results of 12th class were declared. The reports maintained that she was having arts subjects and she had failed in education paper.
Her family stated that she consumed some poisonous substance after she heard of her repair in one of the subjects. “She had worked hard but the results shook her. She herself saw the results and then wanted to end her life,” he sister told KNS.
She was later shifted to the district hospital Handwara where her condition is reportedly stable.
Another student namely Hafiza (name changed) who hails from the same township attempted suicide after learning that she had failed in Political sciences and education. She was admitted in the district hospital Handwara that later referred her to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Srinagar. The family sources told TKSNN that her condition is stable but she might remained under medical supervision for some days in the hospital.
