Killing of Noor Mohd Tantray major blow to JeM: Col Sanjeev Saroch

Anantnag, Dec 26 (KNB):  Deputy commander sector one Sanjeev Saroch addressing a press conference following the killing of top JeM’s commander Noor Mohd Tantray stated that it was a major blow to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Kashmir, adding, the operation is another major success for the security forces.
During the press conference Sanjeev Saroch said that,  “the gunfight erupt after a joint team of army’s 50 RR, SOG and RPF yesterday laid a siege of Samboora area last night following inputs about the presence of three militants in area.
Encounter started  after the hiding militants first fired some shots on a joint team of army’s 50 RR, in area During the course of the gunfight, the house in which the militants had taken refuge was substantially damaged in the firing.
Sanjeev added that the Tantray was arrested in Delhi in 2003 and sentenced to life by a POTA court in 2011. He was released on parole but later joined JeM and became its divisional commander for south Kashmir. (KNB)
