‘Ganderbal gets its first Modern Post Office’

Project Arrow Ganderbal Post Office was dedicated today at Ganderbal by Ms. Suneeta Trivedi, Member (Planning) Postal Services Board in presence of Shri John Samuel Chief Post Master General, Jammu and Kashmir. Ganderbal Post Office is the first Post office to be modernized in the Ganderbal district. The Modernization of Ganderbal Post Office is an initiative by the Department of Posts to develop it as customer friendly Post Office with all the latest facilities. Being district headquarters, Ganderbal houses the Govt. offices and major establishments. The Post Office now can serve the offices and business establishments in Ganderbal district better. The Post Office will be a one stop destination for the customers satisfying all their postal needs, besides packaging and stationery needs also. The Post Office will be selling High Quality Saffron and Dry Fruits also. An impressive function was held on the occasion which was attended by a number of local people including businessmen and govt. employees.
Ms. Suneeta Trivedi, Member (Planning) Postal Services Board while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role played by the Department of Posts, J&K Circle under the leadership of Shri John Samuel, Chief Post Master General, J&K. She had dedicated the first Modern Post Office in the J&K circle. She had dedicated Jawahar Nagar Post Office on 17th April, 2012 which laid the foundation for further Modernization programmes. Speaking on the demands of local people, Tulmulla Post office will also be modernized.
Shri Shaheen Ganderbali, Ex. B.D.O., Shri Ab. Rashid Lone, Local Resident and Shri Prateek Prakash, OC, R.R. Ganderbal also spoke on the occasion. They thanked the Department for modernizing Ganderbal Post Office and providing them with all latest facilities. They assured that Post Office will be provided full cooperation by the people. They said that Post Office in recent times has been touching the lives of people closely. They expressed the need for modernizing Tulmulla Post Office.
Shri Jagdeep Gupta, Director Postal Services, J&K presented the welcome address and Shri N. D. Prajapati, SSPO’s Srinagar Division presented the vote of thanks. Shri Showkat Ahmad Parrey, ACAO, J&K, Shri Prateek Prakash, Officer Commanding, R.R. Ganderbal and senior officers from Department of Posts were among other prominent persons present on the occasion.
