Srinagar, May25(KNB): Former MLA and Independent Candidate Er Rashid  is believed to be a tough competetor for  traditional political parties in upcoming Assembly elections as he recieved  great share of voting percentage in lok Sabha elections 2019.

Rashid, who heads the Awami Itihad Party  secured 102168 votes and rose to no. 3 position in Baramulla, while Raja Aijaz Ali  Peoples Conference candidate came to second position with just only 1025 votes more than Rashid.

The total vote percentage of Peoples Conference candidate was 22.88% while Er Rashid has 22.4 % thereby, becoming the nightmare for other political parties in upcoming Assembly elections.

Recently, Rashid has arose a big political opponent in North Kashmir by cutting a large vote share of PDP and Congress thereby reducing the clout of these two political parties.

Pertinently, Shah Faesal Former IAS bureaucrate-turned-politician had also extended his support to Rashid in lok sabha elections while it is not clear if Shah faisal could also extend his support to Rashid in upcoming Assembly elections or he will fight on his own.

In the six parliamentary constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir where Kashmir based regional party National Conference sweeped all three seats in Kashmir division, while BJP turned victorious
in 2 seats of Jammu and one seat of Ladakh divsion.

The current political scenario is going to be interesting as NC and BJP has swiped their stronghold areas while many other parties like PC and AIP has shown awe striking performance by gaining a good share of votes. It is pertinent to mention here that the power of rising parties like PC and AIP can’t be neglected as they have capability to surprise in the upcoming Assembly elections while time will say if PDP and Congress can regain the lost ground.(KNB)
