Ahead of Eid, shoppers throng city markets

‘It is going to be a good Sunday

Srinagar, July 03 : Ahead of Eid-ul-fitr, shoppers are thronging city markets for purchases.
From Jahangir Chowk to Tourist Reception Centre, shoppers from different parts of the valley thronged flee-market for Eid shopping.




This market has over the years gained name and fame. People from different parts of Kashmir throng it for low cost clothes, blankets, quilts, and other household items.

“I usually come Srinagar on the days of celebration for shopping,” said Ghulam Mohammad form Budgam.

In Sunday market mostly women thronged with their children and were busy in shopping of cloths and other necessary items.

The traders engaged in this trade were happy due to the huge hustle and bustle.
“It is going to be a good Sunday because ahead of Eid,” said a vendor with smile on his face.
Meanwhile, due to hustle and bustle in the business hub Lal Chowk traffic jams were also reported which resulted to inconvenience to the commuters.




However, traffic cops were busy to clear the traffic mess and acted against illegal parking. (KNS)
