World Press Freedom Day: JKYJA vows to raise voice on diverse issues

Srinagar, May 03 (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association (JKYJA) marked the World Press Day today and vowed to raise voice on diverse issues faced by the young journalists of Kashmir.

The JKYJA also expressed concern how sections of electronic media in name of debates are murdering journalistic ethics and urged them to refrain from this absurd approach.
JKYJA also paid glowing tributes to the journalists killed in conflict areas from Syria to Afghanistan, and stated that journalists on Kashmir too are facing many odds, like lack of freedom of speech, harassments and undue interference.

“We need journalism for humanity. Young Journalists of Kashmir present hope as they have lot of creativity, positive dynamism and can change all the paradigms of Journalism towards betterment in our part of the world. Restrictions on Freedom of Press are an important challenge facing journalistic fraternity of Kashmir,” states JKYJA spokesperson.

The JKYJA urged the government to address the issues pertaining to the working journalists and hoped that necessary steps will be taken to improve condition of journalists in Kashmir. (KNB)
