Wolves Jolted Baramulla

The attacks by wild animals have sharply increased recently underlining the valleys grave man -animal conflict issue.

From the past six months half a dozen of children’s have became the victims of these Wolves in the North Kashmir (Baramulla). These wolves have created great havoc to the people of this area, due to which people are in great depression. These wolves attack mostly children’s and parents are advising their children’s not to go outside their home because these wolves have no fixed time to attack. They can attack at any place of time.
Authorities have setup control rooms and are distributing leaflets urging people to take precautions to prevent more casualties. Wild life department also issued shoot at sight orders against these wolves which they saw man eater.
Wild life experts says fragmentation of habitat, shortage of food and growing interface between wild animals and humans are leading to rise in incidents of man animal conflict. People believe that these wolves are dozens in the number. These areas are sloppy and there are meadows were these wolves remain hidden. There wolves are scamper in race and attack mostly on the neck of prey.
The terror of wolves came in force when a 7 years old boy Karman Akbar Ganie of Doulathpora Baramulla on February 2013 was molded to death by the two man eat wolves. Kamran was the lonely brother among two sisters.After a gap of 4 months another boy namely Adil Hamid of Kharcheck Watergam village of Baramulla was killed by two wolves. This was followed when the 3 years old boy of HarshinarSheikhporaBaramulla, who was chased to death by the wolves.
These back to back killing spear in the area has created fear psychosis among the people and panic has gripped the entire area. Then on 13 July. 07 years old boy namely Adil Hamid sheikh of hail Baramulla was brutally attacked by the wolves and chased to death.
Pertinently this was the forth killing in past six months.
July and August is the working season for farmers but people are afraid to going to their fields because the fear of wolves is running through their veins and usually proper to go in company. Most people complained that wildlife department is not taking any serious action against the matter. They state that authorities just believe in pomp and show as time has proven.
Masses urge that need of the hour is the Government should make proper strategy to eradicate the threat of wolves from the minds of people and avoid further loss of precious mankind.
