Wife allegedly beaten to death by husband over dowry

Dilshada Bano, 22 years old woman, W/O Mohd Arif dar, R/O Heewan (Sheeri Baramulla) was found dead in Mysterious conditions at her in laws house.
Dilshada was four months expecting mother but unfortunately instead of receiving extra care and love, she was harassed and tortured by her husband. Source said that her husband incessantly harassed his wife and forced her to bring more dowries from her parents.
“She was frequently tormented and ultimately beaten to death by her Husband and in laws”, told parents of victim.
Police has registered a case in this regard and have detained the accused husband and father in law.
A group of women from local vicinity proclaimed that the dowry prohibition act passed in 1961 has completely failed in our society.
“My daughter was tortured physically and mentally to bring more dowry and other luxurious things but I failed to meet their demands and got reward corpse of my daughter. Her husband and in-laws have murdered her”, said father of victim.
From the previous experience, locals believe that deaths based on dowry issues and domestic violence remains persistent and their perpetrators consistently go unpunished.
