Third attack on Telecom in a row; one injured

SRINAGAR: A pedestrian was critically injured when suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a telecommunication tower in Srinagar on Friday, police said.

An official said that Muhammad Faheeq, a resident of Bihar, was injured when the grenade was tossed at the BSNL tower in Shaheed Gunj locality of the city.

He was immediately evacuated to a hospital for treatment.

This is the third such attack since early morning today.

Earlier, grenades were lobbed at showrooms of Vodafone and Aircel companies in Karan Nagar area, less than 500 metres from Shaheed Gunj.
