SMC issues statement regarding Control of Coronoviros (COVID-19) Disease.               

In order to control the Coronoviros (COVID-19) disease and to aware the general public of the Srinagar City, the Commissioner SMC Mr. Gazanfar Ali, gave a press conference today on 20/03/2020  and briefed the media with the arrangements taken by the Corporation.

The Commissioner stated that the Corporation has arranged all required chemicals to be used for sanitization and sterilization and also got some chemicals from Delhi by air.

The Corporation has designed special teams to sterilize and sanitize the Srinagar City and it  is working day and night despite deficiency of manpower and has utilized all its men and machinery for the purpose.

Mr Ali stated that   Yesterday a number of meetings comprising of Traders, Bankers,Transporters,Managements of Private Hospitals, Imamas, and some other organizations, were held wherein it was unanimously decided that all the shops/business establishments except the Pharmacies, essential commodities and groceries will remain closed provided they will make facility of sanitization and washing of hands outside their shops for the customers and Bankers and Private Hospitals 

Besides this  the Fruit Mandi Parimpora and other Vegetable markets shall remain open till 11 A.M. in the morning subject to the precautionary measures to be taken by the traders.

The Commissioner appealed the citizens of the city to cooperate with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to  jointly tackle  the Coronovirous threat  in the Srinagar City.
