Shopian 26 December (KNB): Two militants killed and two army personnel injured during the gun-battle that broke out in Kanigam village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Officials said that two militants have been killed during the encounter while two army personnels also got injured, adding that the militants belong to Al-Badr outfit.
The operation, which comprised of Police, Army’s 34 RR and CRPF, started after the specific information regarding the presence of militants in the area, officials said, adding that the encounter ensued after the fire was opened by the hidden militants on the searching parties.
As per officials, the militants were given the opportunity to surrender but refused. (KNB)
