After Maharashtra and Haryana, the sale of beef has been banned in the Muslim majority state of Jammu and Kashmir. J&K High Court on Wednesday imposed ban on sale of beef in the state.
High Court’s division bench passed the order while hearing public interest litigation (PIL) against cow slaughter.
The court also issued a direction to the Director General of Police to instruct local police officials to ensure that the ban is strictly imposed.
The court has also ordered the police to take strict action against those who violate the ban.
