Hajj Pilgrims Stage Protests In Saudi Arabia, Blame J&K For Broken Promises

Srinagar : The pilgrims from different areas of Kashmir valley who have left for the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia said the J&K state Hajj Committee has completely failed to live up to their promises. “It’s is very unfortunate that Hajj Committee failed to fulfil our requirements and needs. They told us we will give you SIM cards at Delhi airport, but they didn’t. We arrange our SIM cards at much expensive rates,”said Waheed Malik one of the pilgrim.

Meanwhile, according to some reports, Kashmiri pilgrims in Saudi Arabia staged protest against the J&K govt for its, what they called ‘broken promises’.

“We hold protests as we are suffering. We have only one cooking utensil for 40 people. We are suffering badly here,” said Anwar Ahmad.

It if not the first time that Hajj pilgrims from Kashmir are facing problems during the holy pilgrimage. Such stories had been also narrated in the past, but unfortunately, the successive state government always failed to address the issue to reach on some one solution as to why in the whole world only the pilgrims from Kashmir face such problems of connectivity, shelter and other day-to-day issues.

It is high time for government to look into the issue rather than remaining most of the time busy in appointing their blue eyed candidates at coveted posts.
