‘Congress playing politics, don’t want BJP to complete tenure’

Srinagar, Sep 18 : Calling All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice president, Rahul Gandhi as non-serious person, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Monday said that the Congress party is playing politics to hoodwink the people of Jammu and Kashmir.


The senior BJP leader also said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not destroyed Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

He, according to the KNS correspondent, was reacting to the statement made by AICC vice president; Rahul Gandhi wherein he had accused Modi led government of destroying the PDP in the state.
While replying to a query on the sidelines of the party function here at his residence, Dr Nirmal Singh said that BJP has not destroyed PDP. “The congress party is playing politics as they don’t want the current regime should continue,” he said.

Asked about the Congress’s Policy Planning group’s visit to Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister said that as far as the democracy of the country is concerned, everybody has right to met people. “I hope that they are not playing politics and hope their visit to the Valley will help in resolving the issues,” he said.
He also welcomed the MLA Langate, Engineer Abdul Rasheed’s statement wherein he had asked Congress to help Modi led government in resolving the Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, BJP’s National General Secretary, Ramlal while replying to a question over ceasefire on LoC said that the BJP government will take every step to ensure the safety and security of people and border. “We will give befitting reply to Pakistan,” he said.

Refusing to speak the party’s stand over Article 35-A, Ramlal said the case is pending in the court, let the decision come.

He informed reporters that the party, which was held today, was called to discuss varied issues related to the people and the party. (KNS)
