CM meets PM amid Article 35-A row
Srinagar, Aug 10 : Opposition leader and NC Working president Omar Abdullah Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office should explain “assurance” that the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has been given during her meeting with PM over protecting Article 35 A.
“Excuse us if we no longer believe what @MehboobaMufti says after she comes out from these meetings. Can @PMOIndia explain ‘assurances’ pls (sic)?,” Omar tweeted minutes after Mehbooba came out of the meeting with PM and said PM gave her “100 percent assurance.”
“If every assurance @MehboobaMufti claimed to have received had been fulfilled J&K would be largely trouble free today,” Omar tweeted.
NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani said that the party does not believe in the statement of Mehbooba Mufti.
“We don’t believe what she says. We will be waiting for such an assurance from the PMO office,” Wani told KNS, echoing the party president.
