PDP’s Vice President Sonwar Zone Lateef Mir Quits

Srinagar 27 September (KNB): Mohammad Lateef Mir, who so far was affiliated with People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was working as Vice President Sonwar Zone, has decided to quit the party, citing personal reasons.

It is the second resignation in a week from the main stream politicians, with the ULB and Panchayat elections slated to be conducted next month. Earlier, Junaid Mattu also resigned from National Conference citing his disagreement with his party to boycott the elections.

“I will announce my candidature for the ULB elections from Srinagar tomorrow in sha Allah and I remain committed to serving my people and helping the city I grew up in, meet the challenges it’s faced with. I won’t be addressing the media or taking any questions today,” Junaid had said post his resignation announcement. (KNB)
