Srinagar, Apr 27: National Conference on Monday said it was highly unfortunate that the PDP-BJP Government seems to have decided to remove focus from various landmark developmental projects started by the Omar Abdullah Government in Srinagar.
Touring various areas of Shehar-e-Khaas, NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said, “The current Government had chosen to go slow on important road projects, road widening plans, construction of car parking spaces and the vast network of community centers in Srinagar work on which was started by the previous Government.”
“There can be no politics when it comes to the developmental needs of Srinagar. There are various projects of crucial importance that were started during the previous Government’s tenure and PDP-BJP Government should ensure that these projects are completed in their due time. Be it the Ram Bagh – Jehangir Chowk Flyover Project, the Pandech Road Project, the Dal Dwellers Rehabilitation Project, the Naqshband Sahab (RA) Ziyarat Road Project, the Dastageer Sahab (RA) Project or the numerous other projects started by the previous Government – the incumbent Government should ensure timely completion,” Sagar said in a statement to TKS.
Asking the PDP-BJP Government to endeavor to get the special 5000 crores funds package for the development of Srinagar that the previous Government tried hard for, the NC General Secretary said that since PDP was in an alliance with BJP which has its Government at the Center, the party should show some seriousness in delivering on the development front.
He also took stock of the situation in and around Dal Lake that has arisen due to incessant rainfalls and implored the administration and LAWDA authorities to ensure that all Dal gates are operated properly to ensure that there is no loss to the houses of the inhabitants due to rising waters.
Sagar visited various localities of Khanyar, Zadibal and Hazratbal Constituencies and interacted with locals who apprised the NC Leader of their grievances and day-to-day issues.
