“I hope that you will inaugurate more tunnels in J&K’‘

Udhampur, Apr 02: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Sunday while congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his party victory in UP elections said that late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has joined hands with him to “take Jammu and Kashmir out of trouble”.

“You are a brave person; when you take a decision you implement it on ground. My father, Mufti Muhammad had joined hands with you to stop the river of fire and take Jammu and Kashmir out of trouble,” Mehbooba said while addressing the Udhampur rally after Modi inaugurated the Chenani-Nashri tunnel today afternoon.

The chief minister said that India had won all the wars from 1947 to 1999 (with Pakistan), the beauty of Indian democracy was that it engaged in a process of dialogue.

Mehbooba while thanking the prime minister for supporting her government during the unrest in last year said Modi ensured that the state government survived the situation.

“I thank you for supporting me at the difficult time last year and kept Rajnath Singh (Home Minister) by my side to help me tide the difficult time,” she said.
While applauding the prime minister for inaugurating the tunnel, the chief minister said that in future more tunnels will be inaugurated.

“I hope that you (Prime minister) will inaugurate more tunnels like Mughal, Zojilla, Sadna, Rajdhani and others in futre. These tunnels will not only reduce the distance between Jammu and Kashmir but also, I hope, will connect hearts of the people,” the CM said.

The chief minister invited Modi to the state, saying he must visit Kashmir and give a message to the entire world that it is safe for tourists. (KNS)
