Pulwama 05 Feb(KNB): Court on Saturday announced its verdict in a murder case of 2011 and two among culprits have been given life sentence while seven years in prison sentence was issued against another involved. The blind murder case of late Khursheed Ahmad Wani S/O Nisar Ahmad R/O Babhar, whose body was found under cowdung at village Murran. The accused were nabbed by police and the blind case was solved by Pulwama police cracked within 24 hours.
It was 02 April 2011 that Police Station Pulwama received an information through reliable sources that a dead body is lying under the cowdung at Village Murran. On this a Police party from Police station Pulwama approached towards the specific location and recovered a dead body, who later on identified as late Khursheed Ahmad Wani, dumped under dung at village Murran. He was killed by some unknown persons. Upon this a Case FIR No 72/2011 U/S 302, 392,34,201 RPC. was registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation was set into motion. Police officials confided that on this a Special dedicated Police team of PS Pulwama was constituted under the close supervision of SSP Pulwama. “The team with strenuous efforts utilized all available means of investigative techniques, a number of suspects were rounded up for questioning and finally with the assistance of NOK’s of the deceased, witnesses & FSL opinion, the accused persons namely 1. Ab Rashid Dar S/o Ab Karim R/o Murran, 2. Sameer Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Nabi R/O Deeri Murran & 3. Javiad Ahmad Shah S/O Gh Nabi R/o Babhar were found involved in commission of crime and were accordingly arrested in the said case, ” an official told KNB. Finally the challan and the chargesheet was produced before the court of law on 08/06/2011 within the shortest period of time. “The Hon’ble Court has announced its decision today on 05/02/2022 wherein two accused persons were convicted for their involvement in commission of crime, ” the police said in a statement issued to KNB.
The statement reads that the quantum of punishment for accused Sameer Sheikh & Javaid Shah is life imprisonment for 302/RPC & Sameer Ahmad also sentenced 07 years of RI for offence U/S 396/Rpc and accused Javaid Shah also sentenced for one year RI for offence U/S 302 Rpc.
“However approver will be released subject to confirmation of Hon’ble High Court J&K, ” it reads. Police Pulwama has played a vital role in identifying and arresting the actual accused person involved in this blind murder case and thus solved it within 24 hours.
General public of the area hailed the efforts of Pulwama Police in solving such a heinous case within the shortest possible time which finally ended in conviction.(KNB)
