Modi Government’s budget blank for JK: Congress

Jammu | Mar 02 : Chief Spokesman JKPCC Shri Ravinder Sharma has said that Modi Govt’s budget has totally neglected Jammu and Kashmir and it is totally blank causing great disappointment to the people of the state.



Addressing meetings of Block Congress Committees  Sunderbani and Nowshera today during his tour of the area, Mr. Sharma also expressed his concern over the move of the govt. to dislocate thousands of families of Akhnoor and Sunderbani which is thickly populated area and demanded immediate withdrawal of the decision. He said that the move of the Govt. caused panic amongst the people of the areas of Akhnoor, Chhamb and parts of Sunderbani who are likely to be affected by the purposed acquisition of land.  He said that the previous Govt. of PDP- BJP  moved to vacate the land under army in Kashmir valley and this appears to be the gift of the BJP Govt. at the Centre and previous State Govt. for thousands of the families of the area who are likely to be uprooted.  He said that congress has already approached the concerned authorities seeking withdraw of the SRO and objection have been forwarded through Shri Sham Lal Sharma, Senior Vice President JKPCC in this regard.




Sharma said that budget of Modi Govt.  has brought total disappointment to the people of J & K who were promised moon by the BJP and Prime Minister Narender Modi. He said that all promises and slogans announced so far have remained in air only and this is perhaps the first such budget in which the  sufferings of people of J&K have totally been left high and dry. He questioned the amount of package in the past and quoted their repeated announcements of the present dispensation in the centre and state regarding wages of SPOS and release of funds for the same, where as the resent initiatives of the Governor in the matter of SPOS exposed the hollow claims of Centre and State Govt. He said that various sections of society who were made tall promises  have been totally ignored including the flood affected people refugees, Kashmiri pundits, border residents, especially unemployed youth of the state.
