In order to assess the law and order situation in Zainapora area of Shopian following the death of a minor girl, Hon’ble MLA Wachi Aijaz Mir, DDC shopian Mohammad Aijaz, SSP Shopian Shriram Ambarkar held a joint meeting with the public of Zainapora.
SDPO Zainapora, Tehsildar Zainapora besides various respectable citizens from the area were present during the meeting.The participants while interacting with the dignitaries highlighted various issues of public importance and expressed angst and anger on the tragic death of the minor girl which led to protests in the area.
Hon’ble MLA while talking to citizens expressed deep condolences and sympathy with the bereaved family. He appealed the locals to maintain peace and calm in the area so that developmental imperatives could maintain primacy and vision of Hon’ble CM for upliftment of downtrodden people gets fillip.
DDC heard the senior citizens patiently and assured them that justice will prevail and law will take its own course of action against the culprits.
He appealed the public not to take law in their own hands and best possible efforts should be made to maintain law and order in the district.
Later, Mir directed police official to release the youths who were charged for stone pelting.
