Militants who were boarding a Sumo vehicle today evening managed to dodge forces at a checkpoint in Ajas area of Bandipora district.
Sources told that checkpoint was laid by government forces at Ajas this evening. In the meanwhile, militants boarding the Sumo passed though the area and exchanged fire with forces. Amid firing, the militants managed to escape from the spot.
Sources said the forces recovered a grenade and a pouch from the spot. Soon after the incident, a cordon and search operation was launched in the area by army and SOG.
