Leopard Captured Alive in Outskirts of Srinagar

Srinagar 13 February (KNB): A leopard was captured alive by the officials of Department of Wildlife (Jammu and Kashmir) in Sempora’s residential area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Officials said that the department was informed about a leopard roaming in the residential area of Balhama, Sempora of Pantha Chowk which lies on the outskirts of Srinagar.

After receiving the information, a well prepared team of our department visited the area and captured the dangerous animal alive, officials added.

As per initial reports, the residents of the area spotted the leopard early morning and had immediately informed the Department of Wildlife about it.

Furthermore, officials confirmed that leopard was captured without the use of guns and had been trapped using the traditional technique of casting a net, which enabled the team to capture the animal alive. (KNB)
