The Kashmir Scenario Odyssey “(A flashback on our two year journey)”

Malik Sajid Editor-in-Chief

It is well said by well known global author Oscar Wilde that By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, journalism keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community. In reference to the dynamism of above lines and importance of journalism in present day world we came up with the weekly newsmagazine The Kashmir Scenario not knowing what destiny has for us. We are very much glad that after two years of our journey we have come a long way in the world of journalism.

The Kashmir Scenario as a vibrant News Magazine has been a trendsetter in the field of journalism in the Kashmir valley. We were the first news magazine in our part of the world who published leading global celebrity interviews as cover stories .We came up with magnificent stories on human rights issues and via our great exuberance and skills depicted the human pain. We also took lead in highlighting the problems faced by masses especially from rural folks by designing an effective section in our news magazine known as District Scan or weekly roundup for achieving the said purpose. The Kashmir Scenario news magazine has also kept its focus on much needed social and environmental issues.

We were highly conscious in highlighting the untouched issues like those related with the atrocities with women in our part of the world and also gave vent to problems faced by our youth and student community at large,

We are very much pleased that from nook and corner of the world we have garnered an effective feedback from our esteemed readers who have helped us in shaping better content for our newsmagazine and we are optimistic that this support will continue and help us in achieving the desired excellence.
Pertinently, we firmly believe that Journalists strive to keep the public’s trust, because it is on the foundation of trust that information is collected and exchanged. The public must trust journalists to provide accurate and valuable information, or the journalists’ works will be neither sought out nor believed. Sources of information must trust journalists to protect their identity, where applicable, and not to misrepresent them or their views. This can be seen as an ethical value, but it is also a pragmatic one: a media outlet cannot do business if it cannot obtain sources or be believed by the public.

On our second anniversary, we are highly grateful to all those who have encouraged us and guided us in our journey .We would always like an effective feedback from our readers who in real terms are our inspiration and in every sense owe our news magazine.

To young budding journalists of our part of the world we would just like to say understand the relationship between the news organization and the community that the organization serves; analyze critically their own responses to the process of reporting, as well as place their own work in a cultural and historical context with regard to media issues and politics;be self-reliant and self-confident about what is to be reported and the appropriate manner in which it is to be reported;

Without an iota of doubt despite hardships and difficulties the overall 2 year journey of The Kashmir Scenario newsmagazine has been marvelous and wonderful.
