J&K SWB welcomes promotion of Neelam Bhardwaj as ED CSWB

Srinagar, April 29th:Miss Neelam Bhardwaj has been promoted as Executive Director, Central Social Welfare Board, (CSWB), Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, New Delhi. Miss Bhardwaj hails from Jammu and was currently posted as Joint Director CSWB.

The appointment of Miss Bhardwaj as ED CSWB has been widely appreciated by various organisations. Executive Director & Secretary J&K State Social Welfare Board, Aamir Ali has also welcomed the promotion of Ms Bhardwaj, whom he described as “a daughter of the soil” and said that she has special affection for J&K. Aamir expressed hope that Ms Bhardwaj would implement special livelihood generation schemes for J&K for the upliftment of women, belonging to economically weaker sections of the society, as well as organise special awareness generation programmes for the children of J&K. Miss Bhardwaj has over 34 years of experience in the field of social work and has implemented various schemes for NGOs through a network of 33 State Social Welfare Boards all across the country.

She has dealt with various schemes related to welfare, empowerment and development of women and children like Rajiv Gandhi National Creche Scheme, Short Stay Home Programme, Family Counselling Centre, Condensed Course of Education for Women, Awareness Generation Programme, Socio-Economic Programme. She has a vast administrative experience and has specifically dealt with Personnel and Vigilance of Central SW Board as well as State SW Boards.

She formulated and implemented Pilot Projects for the Development of women and children of J&K, as well as North East region. With the technical assistance of NIC she developed online web based software called “e-AWADEN” for registration of NGOs/voluntary organisations and facilitated their online submission of application and back office processes. She completed her MA from Delhi University and is a specialist on Entrepreneurship Development and Management Training Programme from Durham University Business School, United Kingdom.
